USB Type-C Connector Repair
The new USB Type-C Connector is a 24 pin reversible plug connection for devices. This type of USB connector will eventually replace the Micro (Type B) USB connection which is found on the majority of mobile phones and tablets at present.
The USB Type-C cable is now poised to become the ‘universal’ cable as it is capable of supplying extremely fast data transfer speeds of up to 10Gb/s.
It is already making its way to phones such as the OnePlus 2, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and the new Apple MacBook. LG and Samsung are going to implement this new type of connection in its flagship models such as the LG G5 and Galaxy S7.
We here at Mobile Device Workshop are already able to repair this type of port in the event of damage or failure. We stock the majority of the new type of connectors for most devices.
The process for the repair is as follows;
